In the late 80s, Mrs. Bernarda Cecelja started an intensive business to be known on the bed system markets in Europe, and in cooperation with Croatian partners she launched her own line of beds and mattresses. Thanks to quality and innovative technological solutions the the BERNARDA bed systems easily started to conquer European markets. Inspired by the results Mrs. Cecelja founded in her homeland Croatia THE BERNARDA COMPANY LTD, a production of high-quality bed systems in 1998. The company has 13 employees and spreads on 800 m2 of land. The beginning of the production is also the beginning of THE BERNARDA PRODUCTS placement in the Republic of Croatia.
Permanently aware of the product quality importance but also of scientific innovations realized in cooperation with specialized scientific institutes for quality sleep researches, led by international renowned experts, The Bernarda Company started to produce extremely popular products on the domestic and foreign markets. A rich assortment of “strong” products ensured a great demand which, after 12 years, became the reason why the company presently has 150 employees and spreads on 12.000 m2 of land.
The biggest part of BERNARDA products has secured a good position on markets all over the European Union, even on the markets of Kazakhstan. Many international hotel chains, like Astron, Kempinski, Holiday Inn, The Hilton, Sheraton, Intercontinental and others, use BERNARDA bed and mattress systems. During the 12 years of presence on the Croatian market some notable hotels, like Excelsior, Antunović, Central, Dubrovnik, Bellevue, Panorama and others, have been more than satisfied with the BERNARDA products. Numerous Croatian households have been supplied with the same quality products via household show-rooms. Due to the big interest on the market of ex Yugoslavia the company opened branch offices and show-rooms in Belgrade in 2007 and then again in Skopje in 2008.
To satisfy the demands of an exact market, the Bernarda bed systems are not only the result of actual world trends in bed and mattress industry, but they also set new standards of quality and healthier sleep with their innovative solutions for resting and getting away from the stressful modern commonplace happenings. This level of usage and innovations is achieved by the introduction of numerous certificates, like the production certificate ISO 9001:2008 and product quality certificate of the LGA Institute in Nürnberg, The Faculty of Forestry in Zagreb, the Euro-Inspect Wood Control Centre in Slavonski Brod and, of course, the mark of The Croatian Quality. The high innovation of these products has been confirmed by vast acknowledgements like The Gold Medal – MOBIL OPTIMUM from the Ambienta Fair in Zagreb, The Diploma of The Belgrade Household Fair, The Diploma with a Gold Medal from the Ambienta Fair in Novi Sad and Skopje in the year 2007 and 2008, and many others.
Thanks to these business achievements and positive influences which by the means of the BERNARDA products participate in everyday life of its customers to mutual satisfaction, Mrs. Bernarda Cecelja, the company manager and proprietor, has been proclaimed “the best contractor in the category of small and medium management” for the past few years.
